What we collect, what we don't, and why
Last updated 2026-05-08. Plain English first, lawyer English never. If a section feels evasive, tell us.
What we collect
- Email address — only when you sign up or request a magic-link sign-in. Used to authenticate you and to send the digest if you opt in.
- Display name — only the one you provide on signup, optional.
- Session cookie — opaque, signed, expires when you sign out. Used to keep you logged in across page loads.
- Server logs — IP address + user-agent + timestamp on auth events (sign-in attempts, magic-link issues). Retained 30 days, used for rate-limiting and abuse investigation only.
What we don't
- No tracking pixels. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no third-party fingerprinting. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-first, cookie-free, and doesn't identify users.
- No personalized advertising. Affiliate links to App Store / Google Play / Steam are present and disclosed; clicks do not feed an ad-targeting graph.
- No selling data. Your email is not sold, rented, or shared with marketing partners. We don't have marketing partners.
- No tracking your kids. The site has no kid-facing surface. The reviews are written for parents.
How long we keep things
- Account email + sign-in records: until you ask us to delete them.
- Magic-link tokens: 15 minutes, single-use. The raw token is never stored — only a SHA-256 hash.
- Server logs: 30 days.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, anywhere else)
Email the editor from the address on your account and ask for: a copy of what we have, a correction, or a deletion. We respond within 14 days. No forms, no portal.
Affiliate disclosure
Some buy buttons on review pages are affiliate links. When you buy through them, we earn a small commission from the platform (Apple, Google, Amazon, Steam) — never from the developer of the app being reviewed. The commission is structurally too small to influence a review, and every review explicitly states "no payment from developers." If you'd rather not feed the affiliate graph, search the app name directly in your platform's store.
